J is for Jalapeno Poppers – A to Z Challenge 2020

Some foods can spice up your life. Sometimes literally!

Jalapeno is one such vegetable/fruit that can be used to spice up any food item. You can try a sandwich, a dip or even a burger with this medium-sized chili.

How spicy is jalapeno?

This chili is spicy but not as much as you’re expecting. In the list of chillis/peppers, this would be considered anywhere between mild to moderate.

Are jalapeno peppers bad for you?

Now here’s a fun fact I bet you never knew. This chilli is known to contain capsaicin, a compound with multiple health benefits related to weight loss, heart health, pain relief and many more. So yes, this is very good for your health! If you’re intolerant to spice, you can avoid this!

List of Top Jalapeno Poppers:

I first tried a BITE of this chili a few years ago in the form of “Jalapeno Poppers”. Call it the “Experimental age” or whatever, I ended up trying new food items to increase my knowledge. One such time, I tried jalapeno poppers and since then I’ve never looked back.

Most of the restaurants add cheese to this making it a love affair! From the moment this popper touches your lips, you’ll feel the heat and spice both! It’s quite tasty too. To make matters easier for you, Here’s a list of top places I’ve visited in Mumbai for Jalapeno Poppers:

  • 1441 Pizzeria, All over Mumbai
  • Jimis Burger, All over Mumbai
  • 145, All over Mumbai
  • Quesso Ristorante, Andheri

So if you’ve not tried a BITE of these poppers ever, please do try it post this lockdown ends!

  1. This is really cool. Jalapenos are my favorites, be it in pizza toppings or any other dish. This one is a must try.
