Over these years, I have found some old and new comedy movies that I can repeatedly watch as its fun. I’m sure you too must have your favorites. So today, I’m going to share my Bollywood comedy movies list with you that I absolutely love and can watch repeatedly.

1. Chachi 420
Chachi 420 is a Kamal Haasan classic that released in 1997. This movie is a remake of a Tamil movie ” Avvai Shanmughi” and is also inspired by the Robin Williams classic Mrs. Doubtfire (1993).
The story revolves around Kamal Haasan who wishes to be close to his daughter post-divorce. He dresses up as a lady and works as a nanny in the family. The whole movie will bring in hilarious moments and you cannot help but laugh on them.
Chachi 420 cast was one of the best with Tabu, Amrish Puri, Fatima Sana Shaikh (Dangal), Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, and many more.
2. Hungama
Hungama, released in 2003, is considered to be one of the best comedy movies in Hindi cinema. This movie is a remake of Priyadarshan’s 1984 Malayalam film Poochakkoru Mookkuthi. Priyadarshan is the director of Hungama too.
The story revolves around various characters who have a misconception about each other’s family backgrounds. All stories get connected in a climax that will make you laugh hard!
Hungama movie gave Rajpal Yadav a much-needed push as he then went on to deliver amazing comedy hits.
3. Garam Masala
Garam Masala is a Priyadarshan classic released in 2005. Who would have known back then that John Abraham would be able to pull off full Hindi comedy movies with such grace?
The plot revolves around one guy getting engaged to 3 girls and how he manages to handle every girl without being caught! Paresh Rawal, John Abraham, and Akshay Kumar have given stellar performances.

4. Hera Pheri:
Hera Pheri, released in 2000, is nothing less than a cult classic. It is also voted as the greatest comedy movies of all time. The story is adapted from Priyadarshan’s 1989 Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking.
The plot revolves around 3 people who wish to earn money and solve all their problems in life so they don’t die poor. The trio of Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal have amazing chemistry that no one will ever forget.
When someone talks about comedy movies in Bollywood, Hera Pheri 1 does enter their mind. Watch it any time and it will still make you laugh.
5. No Entry
No Entry, released in 2005 is directed by Anees Bazmee and is one of the most rib-tickling and funny comedy movies in Bollywood. It’s about married men trying to stray from their relationships and enter in the “No Entry” zone.
The movie fared well because of the comic timing and amazing acting from every cast member. You are bound to be laughing at every character and their misery.
No Entry cast includes Salman Khan, Esha Deol, Anil Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Fardeen Khan, Celina Jaitley, Boman Irani, and many more.
6. Andaz Apna Apna
It’s rare to find a gem of a movie that was deemed to be “Flop” when it was released.
Andaz Apna Apna movie has this rare feat of taking 3 years to make and being called a Flop when it released in 1994.
But as time went by and this movie has crossed 25 years, it’s nothing less than a cult classic. With stellar performances from this multi-star cast including Paresh Rawal, the late Jagdeep, Shakti Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, and Karisma Kapoor, the movie still makes people laugh a lot.

The plot revolves around an uncle who wants his nephew to get married in a house that is not related to crime. All hell breaks loose when he falls for a girl whose family background deals with the crime!

8. Hulchul
In the early 2000’s Priyadarshan was on a roll with back to back new Hindi comedy movies releasing year after year. The story of Hulchul is adapted from a Malayalam movie “Godfather” in 1991 and a Marathi film “Ghayaal”.
The plot revolves around a strict father who doesn’t allow ladies within his household and has not allowed his 4 sons to get married. All hell breaks loose when the youngest son falls in love with the enemy’s niece.
Hulchul cast includes Amrish Puri, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor and many more.
There are many consolation entries like Chup Chup Ke, Golmaal 1, and Mere Baap Pehle Aap.

Comedy is a genre excessively popular in India. Hera Pheri is one of the most loved comedy movies of all time. You should also add Malamaal Weekly, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited and Delhi Belly too.

Well, I realised that I have watched all of these movies. While I loved some of these like Chachi 420, some of them were a bit over the top for me. But truly, these are some of the best comedy movies of Bollywood.
