R is for Recherché – A to Z Challenge 2017

R is for Recherché which means carefully chosen, rare or exotic.

How do you choose your friends?

Firstly, by this I mean how do you decide who are your friends and who are just acquaintances.

While this sounds very general, I’d like to say that we just have 10-20 people who are near to us.

So, the rest are just friends!

They are there always, but when in time of need, you will either face it alone or call these 10-20 people for help!

Although this is debatable, I’d like to know what makes you realize that these friends can be trusted?

In addition, I take a lot of time before trusting anyone. Maybe that’s my problem.

HINT: But If I do shout at you, get angry and speak my mind, then you’ll are near to me!

Yes, I do that pretty often to the ones I love the most. I don’t take a second to snap at them if they’re doing something wrong!

In conclusion, Id like to know who are the people that are Recherché according to you.

That’s all for today!

  1. In my personal experience, no one is gonna be there for you every time you need them. With hectic lives and personal problems every one face, it’s quite impossible. May be with adult hood, we learn to keep things to ourselves and solve them alone. However, yes, you should choose your close ones wisely because you will find them standing for you most of the times.

    1. Hi Anmol, yes I do agree with your views too. They won’t be with us every single time. But it’s good to know that there’s always few of them who’ll be there for you!

    1. Hi Kalpanaa, what I meant by shouting was only when they’re doing something wrong which they cannot understand. It’s like a blind spot which everyone can see except them. Otherwise no ways can I shout. I’d be beaten to death! 😛

    1. Hey Dipanwita, yes totally true. I can count the number of people on my fingertips that are there for me. I’m glad they are! 🙂

  2. Hmmm. I’m not so sure, at this point of time in life, about who those 10-20 people are. I’m not even sure if there are 10-20 of them.

Everybody gets so busy in their own life. Different cities, jobs, families. Can we even expect them to come and help us?

    I don’t know. I’m confused about this.

But, glad to connect with you during this AtoZ, Megamind. Do visit mine sometime.
    Happy blogging!

    1. Hi Kaddu, I just spoke in general. For me, I can count upto 5 people who are always there for me as of today. Maybe we all will get busy. But I won’t forget the things and the time they gave me when I wanted it the most.

  3. Well, for starters, you know it deep inside who is a true friend or well wisher. Secondly, a friend in need is a friend indeed.. bad situations are a real test of who is our wellwisher and who just doesn’t care enough to give us a call. And finally, time is the best answer..over time, the acquaintances start clearing out of our lives by themselves! Nice post. Such perspectives are necessary to keep us grounded. 🙂

Research is very important, but how much research do writers put in?

    1. Aptly written. Yes, in time everyone gets filtered and the ones remaining are the people you’ll be with forever! Cheers!
