K is for Kainotophobia & Kamerad (Not Comrade) – A to Z Challenge 2016

K is for Kamerad which means to surrender. This does sound like the word “Comrade” no?.

The meaning of comrade is an old colleague or a fellow member of an organization. In a weird way, it reminds me of the movie “Dear Comrade”. Kamerad, today’s choice of the unique word means surrender.

Surrender can mean a lot of things. For today I’d like to use this concept as wasting an opportunity. When there’s an opportunity do we grab it? Do we surrender need our need to use that opportunity? What’s your take?

For me, there was a time I was so cautious that I would never take part in any activity. Go to school, attend the lecture, and come home. Don’t take part in sports, dance, writing, etc. So many opportunities have been missed that I can’t even count them.

I decided since 2015 that I would try my level best to live a life without regrets.

Trust me, comrade, when I tell you that since then I’ve been happier than ever. Sure I’ve had sad moments too but hey, that’s what life is full of… Surprises!

Never let go of every opportunity. Sure if it’s not your cup of tea then it’s cool. But if it was and you didn’t grab it, the regret shall haunt you. Don’t surrender dear comrade, keep going!

K is for Kainotophobia which means fear of change.

Change… before you have to! Yes, quite a thought this one line can be, right? Who loves change? I certainly don’t. Many like me develop a fear of change.

It would mean letting go of a few things that comfort me, which makes life easy. Correct. But at the same time, a change in my daily routine or the way I work or the way I react to situations might make me a better and efficient person.

You must change because you want to be better, not because someone or some situation forced you to change.

I learned a few things in life the hard way and realized it was a waste of time. Now I wouldn’t do those similar mistakes again.

The classic example would be like in movies where the parents crib that their son/daughter wastes time and they keep asking him/her to change and be a good person.

They don’t. Until a tragic accident or illness causes the parent/s to die and that’s what makes them realize what they need to do. That’s when they CHANGE.

Fear of change in life is what most of us go through!

I’d like to end my post asking you guys a question; Do you think Change is needed or must we wait for something extreme to happen in order to change?
