365 Days of Writing – No, Thank You

If I had the power to eliminate a word, I would have a lot of choices.
But the final choice would be “Swear”
Meaning of Swear
Make a solemn statement or promise undertaking to do something or affirming that something is the case.
Why would I want to do that?
The answer is pretty simple.
In today’s time where truth and honesty has a stronger competitor in lies and deception,
The usage of the word “Swear” has lost its value.
People use this word for almost anything and everything.
Examples:
·         Swear on your mom and dad.
·         Swear on me.
·         Swear on God.
·         Etc.
It doesn’t make sense, does it?
When a person has decided to lie, you can make him or her swear on their unborn children, and still they will lie.
So what’s the use of keeping such a word when it is just used to get away with a situation?
This is what my thoughts are.
I would love to know which word you would want to eliminate from general usage.
Awaiting your replies.

If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?
